Single on Christmas Day

Often times it seems that Christmas is built around children and families...where does that leave us?

Does it bother anyone else when the family photos are being taken and you seem to be the only one without a spouse or child??  What do you do?

Hey mshoot4stars, yeah...when the topics at Christmas time shift solely towards children or "family" topics, that can get me down. I tend to listen to them for awhile (as I would want someone to listen to me.) If it goes on for an extended period of time, I will normally make a nonchalant comment so as to clue them in that the topics have become one-sided. If that doesn't alter the lopsided conversations, I realize that they need to release whatever it is they want to say and so I typically will politely excuse myself and find something else to do...same goes for when the pictures come out. I usually find at least one or two people follow me out of the room, giving us the freedom to create our own interesting conversation. Even if I leave by myself, it gives me time to think and breathe.
