Hey mshoot4stars, yeah...when the topics at Christmas time shift solely towards children or "family" topics, that can get me down. I tend to listen to them for awhile (as I would want someone to listen to me.) If it goes on for an extended period of time, I will normally make a nonchalant comment so as to clue them in that the topics have become one-sided. If that doesn't alter the lopsided conversations, I realize that they need to release whatever it is they want to say and so I typically will politely excuse myself and find something else to do...same goes for when the pictures come out. I usually find at least one or two people follow me out of the room, giving us the freedom to create our own interesting conversation. Even if I leave by myself, it gives me time to think and breathe.

Does it bother anyone else when the family photos are being taken and you seem to be the only one without a spouse or child??  What do you do?

I am thankful that my family is in good health.  My parents live across the country and are 69 and 74.  I can't be with them as often as I'd like to b/c my work keeps me in another part of the country.  I am so grateful to God that neither they nor my 4 siblings (and their children) have no major health issues.  One of my sisters is pregnant and although there is a concern that the Dr. is monitoring, we are standing firm in the belief that the little one will be born w/ perfect health!  I will speak nothing else!

This may sound like a strange thing to be grateful for- the health of other people! Still, if I had to be far away (which is my reality) and one of my loved ones was ill I would feel helpless and devasted that I couldn't see, touch, or comfort them.  So God is watching over them for me.  Keeping them from dangers seen and unseen.  Hallelujah!

Often times it seems that Christmas is built around children and families...where does that leave us?

I don't want to be Martha Stewart, so why do I drive myself so crazy trying to be everyone's perfect woman during the Holidays?

Keep it small.

Although it may look nice, there is no need to have a m ive signature pic.

1.) It takes ages to scroll through the posts seeing the same pictures of people's personal stuff.

2.)  And secondly, those members that still use slow connections, are sitting there for ages waiting for your sigs to load... Very dull I'm sure you can imagine!

So, let's keep the size of our signatures to a modest level.

Thank you!
